Paramedic (Full Time or Per Diem)

POSITION SUMMARY:  Responds to calls for service, provide advance life support (ALS) as needed, within the prescribed scope of practice, established protocols and company policies, and transport sick or injured patients to the appropriate medical facility.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Utilizes medical equipment including, but not limited to, defibrillator, EKG monitor, oxygen and suction devices, and intravenous fluids to provide advanced medical care.

Expertly applies their ALS skills and knowledge.

Assesses and records any treatments provided and reactions to treatments and/or medications.

Communicates with patients and family members to provide information and assurance that care is being given.

Takes responsibility for unit management as needed.

Cleans and decontaminates ambulance after transporting.

Works collaboratively and in a professional manner with all healthcare partners.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

1. 21 years old at the time of offer letter

2. High School diploma or general education degree (GED)

3. Has the minimum requirements to obtain SNHD licensing.

4. AHA BLS, ACLS and PALS provider

5. PHTLS or ITLS

6. Complete STABLE and NRP course within six (6) months of start date.

7. Valid Nevada driver’s license

8. Pass medical evaluation, drug screening, and background process post-offer letter.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Current state Paramedic certification or SNHD paramedic certification.

NREMT

EVOC certification

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Excellent communication and customer service skills

Ability to work effective with other crew members and medical agencies to provide the highest level of patient care.

Ability to read and interpret all required documents and write required reports.

Strong organization skills and attentiveness to detail.

Ability to maintain a professional manner and appearance at all times.

Ability to conduct a thorough examination of the patient for signs and symptoms of illness or injury and assist other medical personnel to accomplish this as necessary.

Ability to provide prompt medical care to the patient for the stabilization of their condition prior to transport.

Ability to clean and restock the unit to place the unit back in service.

Ability to precept students or new employees.

                Physically able to perform all tasks required in the performance of typical EMT duties including but not           limited to bending, pushing, pulling, and lifting (minimum 70lbs).
